FIVE FACTS FROM THE SOURCE (Embedded):
EX: The article cites Maria Nikolajeva, a professor of at Cambridge, as saying that Bella does not "in any way promote independent thinking or personal development" in women, instead portraying a woman "meek and willing to do anything for her vampire boyfriend" (POV).
The article cites that James Mcbride "missed the most important cultural event in my life time" stating that he tried to avoid a new "culture" as at the time it was known as a culture and not rap as it is today (James Mcbride).
The entire world had embraced hip hop culture but just like rock and jazz in the 1930's society tried to remove hip hop "France it has been blamed unfairly for the worst civil unrest that country has seen in decades"(James Mcbride).
It is still unknown of how hip hop was created most people still see as how James Mcbride call it an "enigma"(James Mcbride).
Most people view hip hop as a "black culture" James Mcbride saw this as "a music dipped in the boiling cauldron of race and class" elaborating of the different races and social classes it took to create a culture as diverse as hip hop (James Mcbride).
James Mcbride lectures that hip hop has deeper roots than one might think, it goes all the way back when African slaves in ships from "west Africa" would "tell stories" of how they were brought hear and where they came from mush like when a person raps it usually a story of there life or how it is where the're from.

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):
James Mcbride is a journalist from Ohio who grow up in the Broncs of New York city. In the beginning of the article he would talk about his child hood and how the culture of hip hop came to be. A few group of people who started parties and people who came with dance groups and started having dance battles. Since there schools took out any extra curricular activities, looked for something to full fill there lively hood. Later on the media got involved and highlighted the negative aspects of hip hop culture.

Credibility of Source:
Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site?
The author of the artical is James Mcbride. He grew up in the Broncs seeing everything being created from the loud parties that first started in his apartment to the dance battles the made hip hop what is really is.
National Geographic is a source that inform us of not only historical event but current events as well. It informs on everything from dinosaurs to issues with global climate change.

Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?
James Mcbride learned of his hyppocracy from writing this article but even though he did partly join hip hop he learned that the culural phenomenon did affect the life style of his own children today.

Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?
There is a bias in how he despised the fact that his own daughter was marrying a person that imbrased the culture James Mcbride grew up in and regretted not living the what he called the most important culture change in his lifetime.

References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?
The author uses political event that a cured during this period as well as his own experiences that helped add to his credibility.

Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?
I plan on using this source in my project as an informative way to include how hip hop affected other cultures as well.
